Interesting overview from The British Journal of Photography on Getty’s new Embed feature, which allows bloggers to use watermark free images on social media sites and blogs. Getty acknowledge that their images have been widely used without permission and have launched Embed in response to this. The embedding tool includes full copyright information, a link to Getty’s licensing page and ensures the image cannot be re-sized – see example below. However this legal method for using Getty images non-commercially may be less than popular with professional photographers.
